From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 2-- This third "Beany and Scamp" story finds Scamp Squirrel fixing a Christmas bush and feast as a surprise for his hibernating bear friend. However, Beany Bear dreams that the preparation noises are really wild beasts and awakes terrified. The two friends don sheets to scare away the intruders, but discovering no one, they proceed to drink the Christmas honey punch, eat, and exchange presents. Homey interiors and the activities of small mice depicted in several of the watercolor pictures add interest to this pleasant enough story. --Susan Hepler, formerly at Windsor Public Library, Conn.
