Robert Dees is the founder of Spiritual Health Associates. He shares the message of spiritual health as a spiritual director, retreat leader, chaplain, and author. He is a graduate of Brite Divinity School and ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.) He has been a companion to people seeking deeper, more spiritually healthy lives for over 30 years. While most of his education and training comes from the Christian tradition, his work in human spirituality grows out of a deep appreciation for and study of diverse religious traditions. He writes, "Spirituality is not a religious category, it is a human category that often finds its expression in religious language." He believe that anyone, religious or not, can find and enjoy spiritual health. He often describes himself a "spiritual but not religious." Robert is an avid nature photographer, often finding his best prayer time through the lens of a camera. He has been married for the last 38 years to his life companion, Marlene. They have two children and five grandchildren. His greatest passion is in walking with others as they discover the tremendous gift of life welling up from within their own spirits. In that moment we encounter the wondrous mystery that fills and sustains our lives.
