From School Library Journal:
Grade 3-5-"You Lose, I Find" is the name of the detective business that Minnie and her cat Max operate. They are always on the trail of a mystery to be solved and this one zeroes in on a stolen prize pigeon. The girl enlists the help of her friend Cash to find Mary Moon before the upcoming Pigeon Prize Race. An Atlantic coastal community serves as the setting for this story, with the sleuth's headquarters located in her brother's Catfish Cafe. Red herrings abound as Minnie, Max, and Cash take steps and missteps to solve the case. The plot in this beginning chapter book will hold readers' attention to the end. It is fun to follow and to try to figure out how the diverse characters fit together. Lively, pen-and-ink drawings add to the enjoyment. Fans of David Adler's Cam Jansen and Mary Monsell's Mr. Pin will want to add Minnie and Max to their roster of mystery series characters to seek out.
