A native of St. Louis, Professor Dunne is a graduate of Georgetown University and St. Louis University Law School. During WWII he served on a destroyer in the Pacific. He joined the Federal Reserve Bank's legal staff in 1949 and became is General Counsel in 1963: in 1967 he was appointed to the position of Vice President. Formerly Visiting Professor of Law at St. Louis University. He is the author of Monetary Decisions of the Supreme Court and Justice Joseph Story and the Rise of the Supreme Court. Professor Dunne is married to the former Nancy O'Neill, and they have six children.
