Man and Boy - Softcover

Tony Parsons' debut novel Man and Boy was named the Butler & Tanner Book of the Year at the British Book Awards this evening in London. Published by HarperCollinsUK, Man and Boy has sold over 750,000 copies and been on the British bestsellers list for over 50 weeks.

Sourcebooks, Inc. -- an independent publisher based in the Chicago suburb of Naperville -- holds the North American rights for Man and Boy, which is the inaugural title in its new fiction imprint, Sourcebooks Landmark. The novel, which had an initial print run of 50,000, began shipping to U.S. bookstores on February 14th. Man and Boy is a Literary Guild Featured Alternate this Spring.

Parsons is scheduled for an initial 10-city American tour beginning on March 19th; he will be stopping in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis and Denver.

Born to a blue-collar family in the East End of London, Tony Parsons became a music journalist, covering the new wave and punk rock explosion for the British music magazine NME. Parsons' award-winning journalism has also appeared in magazines such as GQ and Elle. He is currently a columnist for the Mirror and regularly appears on BBC TV's Late Review and in his own television documentaries. Man and Boy is his first novel.
