Imagine if you lost your parents - not just in place, but in time. Jake Djones' mum and dad have gone missing and they could be anywhere in the world - at any time in history. Because the Djones family have an astonishing secret, which for years they've managed to keep - even from each other. They belong to the HISTORY KEEPERS: a secret society which travels through the centuries to prevent evil enemies from meddling with History itself. In the quest to find his parents, Jake is whisked from 21st Century London to 19th century France, the headquarters of the mysterious History Keepers, where he discovers the truth about his family's disappearance - and the diabolical Prince Zeldt's plan to destroy the world as we know it ...

About the Author:
Damian has worked extensively as a screenwriter on projects as diverse as Phantom Of The Opera and Puss In Boots. His varied passions include cosmology, ancient history, natural science and rollicking adventure stories. He is a proud Londoner and lives on the Southbank with his dog Dudley. The History Keepers: The Storm Begins is his first novel.
Review:
"Move over Harry Potter, it is time for Jake Djones to take the limelight. Almost too exciting for bedtime reading, and already optioned by Working Title Films, The History Keepers: The Storm Begins is the thrilling debut novel by the screenwriter Damian Dibben." The Telegraph "Bags of commercial potential and a great read too." -- Fiona Noble The Bookseller "There are desperate chases and hair-raising escapes and Errol Flynn-style swordfights, complicated traps like the puzzle pictures of MC Escher, a complete 16th-century Venetian travelogue and more comical or eccentric secondary characters than you could shake a wand at." -- Tony Bradman The Guardian "If you've got Harry Potter withdrawal, The History Keepers is just the thing. A cocktail of time travel, secret societies, double agents and edge-of-your-seat excitement, it's sure to fill that fantasy void. The only problem? You won't be able to put it down." Glamour "From the moment I began reading I was invited into a world of daring and intrigue that had pace, momentum and was a great deal of fun. It had everything I would hope and expect from a swashbuckling adventure story: secret societies, diabolical arch nemeses, double agents, unlikely heroes, likely heroes... and to add to all this, great heart. There are moments of absurdity and hilarity amid grave danger that are written so well as to make the reader laugh even as they fear for a well-loved character's life. It's a difficult thing to achieve but the author manages it...Stand aside Dr. Who; the History Keepers have arrived." Bookish and Feint
