Kidding Around Boston: A Young Person's Guide to the City - Softcover

A brief look at traveling around Boston and surrounding communities, written with young people in mind. Byers' style is clear and easy to follow; she provides a calendar of seasonal events and a useful list of addresses and telephone numbers. One drawback, however, is that there is no mention of cost. She suggests riding in a horse-drawn carriage, and says "Just make sure of the fare before you climb in: not all drivers charge the same and some ask way too much. " How much is too much? The fact that there is not even a rough estimate of this and other typical expenses makes the book less valuable as a resource for young tourists. Still, it is a worthwhile and readable guidebook.
