Review:
"Earth is a spectacular, constantly changing planet with diverse, powerful, and weird life-forms. The proof can be seen in these attractive, slim paperbacks in the Visual Explorers series. As the series name suggests, high-quality color photographs drive the interest while short text boxes introduce key concepts and supportive facts in double-page spreads. Extreme Earth explains how such geological phenomena as volcanoes, earthquakes, and caves occur. It also describes the impact of weathering, erosion, hurricanes, and tornadoes on the land, as well as the human factor in a shifting earth and extreme weather. Visually rewarding for reluctant readers."

"This series reveals Earth's wonders to inquisitive readers, covering topics from acid rain to slime molds in three wildly colorful and glossy, slim paperbacks. The visuals are the strength of this set and will especially appeal to reluctant readers."
