About the Author:
I live on a mountain named Carn Bugail, it is very beautiful, you can see the Brecon Beacons and the five counties on a clear day. The sunset is absolutely amazing and inspires me to write poetry. There are many ponies, cows and sheep living here as well as lapwings and redkites and sparrow hawks. After the coal mines closed the area has returned to its natural beauty, it is green and lush, boasting many different types of flowers and fauna, there are lakes dotted around the mountain and rivers running down into the valleys. Also there are many ancient burial chambers and stones dating back 4500 to 5500 years. I am the oldest sheep on the mountain, so most of the sheep here are my family. Save Our Valleys – A Sheep’s Tail was my first publication and tells the story of the communities of The Rhymney Valley and the Darran Valley fighting against a monster incinerator, I am the heroine of the story as I rally around all the animals to help the residents with their protest. I love to write books and poetry with my friend Poppy the cat, who is also an author. We wrote a story together about Itchee and Scratchee, two baby hedgehogs we rescued for the winter 'Hedgehog Rescue'. When the hedgehogs returned we wrote a second book called Return of the Hedgehogs. Recently we published the last book in the trilogy called School for Hedgehogs.
