Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 3rd Edition. Beacon Press, Boston, MA. 1970. Softcover/Trade Wraps. Stated 3rd Edition Revised. Beacon BP325/ $2.45. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a felt tip pen mark on the textblock fore edge. Book Condition: Good; missing small pieces of the wraps on the lower front corner and in the center of the rear wrap fore edge; sunfaded spine; shelfwear to edges, tips, and panels. No DJ. Pictorial card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine has shallow creases but is not split; text is secure in binding. 278 pp 8vo. This book is addressed to those who do not want to be drafted. The authors make no attempt to persuade anyone to follow a specific course, but instead set forth the alternatives, explaining how to proceed and what are the likely results of each choice. There is information on the draft lottery, deferments, conscientious objector status and alternative service. They even cover going to prison or emigrating to another country. The draft is long gone- for now- but its memories still haunt anyone of draft age in the Vietnam era. A presentable copy good for a working copy.
