Green-tan speckled cloth boards with red title on front and spine. Red endpapers. From the Foreword: "We have written this book to recapture experiences of those early Oregonians - not to provide a history of the Portland area, but to highlight people and events of earlier days. Some material was found in old newspapers, rare books, and family records; other stories are accounts of events which occurred not long ago in history but which depict a way of life already almost forgotten.".
