Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 160 pages. Club history of the historic Moortown Golf Club in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Moortown was designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie, who was born in Yorkshire. The course hosted and the1929 Ryder Cup, and the U.S. team was captained by Walter Hagen and it was the first match played in Great Britain. The '29 Ryder Cup was the 2nd edition of the matches and it was cold and raw with hail while it was played there. Moortown is one of the few courses illustrated in Robert Hunter's seminal work on golf architecture, The Links. The Moortown history is profusely illustrated with each page containing 2 or 3 photos or images (often substantially more). An extremely detailed and very English club history.
