Book
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. First edition thus. First published as a trade edition in 2001 by Friedman/Fairfax, here the book gets the Easton Press treatment. Full blue leather binding with raised bands, lots of gilt lettering and decoration, a photographic pastedown on the front cover, heavily gilded edges, silk marker, and moiré silk (or bengaline) endpapers. This book has the introduction by Michael Vogel, followed by some 150 or so pages of color photographs of lighthouses opposite a quote or extract from literature relating to lighthouses. A fine copy. A beautifully bound and handsome book for the lighthouse enthusiast. It is a large, hefty tome, so some extra shipping fee may be required. See also my listings for "The Lighthouse Encyclopedia" by Ray Jones, and "Lighthouses of North America" by Barry Pickthall. They make a wonderful threesome.
ed. hardback very good+ condition in full leather with silk endpages.
